Mandates
-
- Budget forecasting and mobilization for the procurement of medical supplies (medical equipment, essential medicines, traditional medicines, consumables & reagents) based on indents received from hospitals and health facilities.
- Procurement and distribution of quality medical products.
- Procurement of medical equipment spare parts and other items required for maintenance of medical equipment and devices based on the quantification and requisition of DBME.
- Ensure safety, efficacy and effectiveness of the procured medical products.
- Ensure availability of at least 95% of essential medicines and 90% basket of consumables in all health facilities at any point.
- Facilitate mobilization of medical supplies.

Qualifications and Procurement Division's Mandates
- Coordinate with all the health facilities and other stakeholders in preparation of annual indents for medical supplies.
- Procure Safe and Quality Drugs, equipment and medical Supplies;
- Timely Delivery of medical supplies;
- Ensure cost effectiveness, value for money and Sustainability;
- Minimize wastage and maximize benefit;
- Promote availability of medical supplies;
- Ensure 95% availability of essential medicines in all health centers;
- Ensure 95% availability of standard consumables in all health centers; &
- Facilitate Ad-hoc procurement of medical supplies during emergencies and for programs.

Logistic Management Division's Mandates
- Receive Medical Supplies from Supplier;
- Coordinate Quality Inspection (QI) in collaboration with stakeholders (end users, DBME and programs;
- Sorting, repacking and distribution of medical supplies to health centers as per the Distribution plan;
- Prepare Good Receipt Note and maintain the inventory;
- Monitor and assess shortage of drugs in health centers and facilitate mobilization;
- Maintain buffer stock for emergency supplies (Only for drugs-V-30%, E-20% & N-10%);
- Refilling and distribution of medical gas;
- Coordinate disposal of expired drugs; and
- Update stock status.
